Our Nest Is A Little Emptier

Our nest is a little emptier.

There is only so much a parent can do to help their children. You love them. You nurture them. You support them as best you can with everything you have and sometimes all of that isn’t enough. I’ve seen two of my children leave my home, neither by my choice. The reason for them both may be the same and when they are ready, they will tell me what that reason is but now that they are no longer under my roof, I’ve come to the realization that there are a few things they need to know about life and before they learn it the hard way, I want to tell them…

•Running away will never solve the problem
•Take responsibility for YOUR actions
•You can’t control the actions of others. You can only control your own
•Respect is given AND earned but disrespect is NEVER allowed
•There are three sides to the story: yours, theirs and the TRUTH
•If you never lie, you don’t have to keep remembering what you’ve told someone
•If you have no control of the situation, be a part of the solution instead of adding to the problem
•The outside world doesn’t know what really goes on behind your closed doors until you tell them. Tell them the TRUTH!

I will always love my children and support them in whatever they do with their lives. I pray they are ready for all that they are about to face.
